And the adventure continues

The past few days have been relatively uneventful, but definitely not dull. We have spent the majority of them by the water for a multi-day siesta. The pools here are gorgeous. There are four pools here. There is a kiddy pool, a large pool with a swim up bar (the large pool also has this cool circle thing in the middle that every so often becomes a sort of cold-water jaccuzi), an infinity pool (circular, with the water running over the sides), and the adult pool (no indication as to why it is called this).

Two fun things have happened:
1. There is this group of ladies here. My guess is that they age somewhere between 50 to 60. I think that they are having more fun then anyone else in the entire hotel. On Sunday I saw them racing each other around the pool, and I actually saw one of them dunk another. I laughed right out loud. I would love to meet them, but they don´t speak english.
2. We watched the Superbowl at the local Outback (not exactly authentic Mexican). It was fun `cause there were people cheering for both sides. And, we actually got to see the `real` Superbowl commercials (in Canada they trump them with local advertising).

We are blessed!

Tuesday we went to Playa del Carmen. The main attraction there (for me) was streets full of vendors. We didn´t really buy much, but we had a blast. We also ate some fabulous tacos there.

Wendesday was off to Chichun Itza (I´m hoping that I spell them right so you can google them) where they have building from an ancient civilation. They were a very violent people group, but they were good builders. We accidently took the long way home, but as a result we got to see the Mexican countryside. I now feel that I have been to Mexico much more. We were able to do these trips with another couple from the hotel. They´re super fun.

Thursday a beach day. This was a the final full day for our fellow travellers, so I was praying that there would be lots of sun (the past few days have been overcast). My prayers were granted to the fullest. We also went into the water again, but it was very rough with a huge undertow so we took it pretty easy and didn't stay long.
